So I feel like it's easy to get lost in all of it, but there was something notable in Aika's soliloquy there: she mentioned her memories between when she was with Yuu and "the split" are kind of fuzzy. If we assume that all the Karins are the same way, that means their intervening time is unclear, even to them, despite them all reacting to them differently and ending up with different personalities (or emphasizing different aspects of the same personality).
