What sucks about using the AI slop crowd…the mobs are not even close to being the same style as the previously drawn mobs… Rips you straight out of the immersion. Not only that, but the samples it stole from looks like several famous mangas fused together that I’m SURE did not approve of their usage. They also tried to make it look less obvious by making them really light in tone and slightly blurry. Ironic I’m complaining about it when we’re reading a sus translation copy in the first place right? Luckily I’ve bought the books of this series so I’m a tiny bit more justified in my opinion, but I can’t support this manga any longer if it’s going in this direction. I’ve seen it used for things like food and furniture/background before, but never actual people in a story.

Again, my personal opinion only. It’s a slap to the face of many mangaka out there.

Even with the manga inking tones you can still see how the crowd is shaded like the most typical shading style seen in AI generations, it's 100% touched-up AI but more importantly it's AI implemented with very unfitting and unmatching perspective.

You think so? I think it looks lousy, but if it's generated imagery that's a real bad look. Guess I'm gonna have to keep a closer eye out in future chapters.

I get that drawing crowds sucks, but this is a monthly manga... there's more than enough time to just draw the crowd by hand even while taking breaks without missing your deadline. this is just laziness

that's why he is changing his plan of attack, he is trying to stop an outside force pushing the world the way it wants from being able to do so compared to his pre-meeting plan of endless attrition with the world so humans were forced into unity

yeah that crowd in pagr 27-29 definitely is AI lol, dunno to what extent, maybe the crowd was roughly drawn then rendered using AI or jsut outright generated...but still, that sucks, for a manga like this.

It's more likely just awkward perspective or CG models scanned to the page. Look at the visible hands: properly proportioned, five digits, slightly misshapen in that "hands are hard to draw" way rather than the "image generation struggles with individual digits" way.

Lmao not even close, modern diffusion models (Pony/Illustrious) can effortlessly create perfect hands.

The real mark of something AI is still the shading. It never fucking lies, because nobody shades shit like that.

I personally don't mind AI, but the fact that the author didn't even bother to use some Lora to modify the overall shading or train a Lora on his own art to imitate his shading really bothers me
