That's the thing,
Because it's a slice of life, they really can't go full on story mode not only they probably don't have that much planned but also, it would change the nature of the manga

He def has a weird love of her, but I low key like that reasoning? He obsesses over her and wants her "close" when in reality he himself is holding her far away because he cannot be honest about his job. So on every other level he attempts to have him close to him when he can never do so mentally. Still creepy tho. Funny how Yor sees her hiding her assasin job as more so a need and not giving him worry but can still be close.

Yuri needs to broaden his social life more or find any hobby that doesn't involve Yor all the time. Accepting his peers to hang out at the end of the chapter is a good step for him.

This whole ch. is about how Yuri is slowly moving on with his life and actually getting out of his room of Yor pictures.

Why focus on the potential red herring, when we have peak character progression in front of us.

This. This is one of the more important chapters in a while because it shows character growth for someone who is likely going to be a key player in the end game of the story. It's a bit too early to make any definitive predictions but I would not be at all surprised if Yuri eventually has to team up with Yor and Loid to "save the world/bring world peace" and Yuri learning to mellow out and realizing that the chasm between him and his sister is largely one of his own making is a big step.
