Perhaps, but I think you're reading too much into cover art. Not yet knowing the contents of the chapter and looking at that art, there's certainly the possibility that it was a sort of memorial cover (and you would be right...)... But you can't trust cover art. If we trusted cover art, then Han should be dead since the volume 1.2 art is him lying down amongst a bunch of swords that kind of look like a sword graveyard. And there are pictures of people on those swords, too, so they're probably also supposed to be dead...Seeing the cover change kinda spoil it.
