Finally an underdog story where the party members aren't being a jerk to MC. It's actually very fair how they resolved this, the girl doesn't want him to risk his life either

Don´t know chief... it has a lot of things I don´t like in this type of stories:

- friendly separation: I´m here for the drama and revenge, also in this type of trope, the MC is always a bit of a simp for the former party.

- Random ass power up: He did not grew, he did not had a secret power or was shouldering the rest of the party at the cost of his own growth... nope, he got power because of deus ex machina, that makes the party´s decision of kicking him out the correct one, nothing is wrong with it... and if nothing is wrong with it... then the MC is not powerful, the skill is the powerful thing... worst than power fantasy.

- Making a powerful job look like is weak: a bit of time playing monster hunter will tell you that traps are... tricky, but really powerful. A trapper is not weak, is just that the skill curve is a bit harder... he either needs to do things solo or use the party to lure monsters to a minefield.

... Well is just the first chapter so it might be better, also is set in "present day" which I like so i want to give it a chance, just hope the dude is not too much of a simp for the former party... or that the party has a secret agenda, I would love a secret agenda
Can't agree more on the 2nd reason. MC getting random power up is bad enough, and yet he got it without any struggle. Not to mention the pacing is too fast for this kind of development. Don't know why but the power up part makes me cringe, event though i don't mind with this kind of story

Story really dropped the ball RE: the premise.

1. Given random power up, missed a chance to really explore his skill set and become powerful in a unique way.

2. He’s obviously a support class, why does no one in universe think to DRIVE enemies toward traps, or pin them down on them? A huge hole in the story that is hard to ignore.

As much as I like it when these "expelled from the party" trope stories subverts themselves by having the MC and other party members break up on cordial terms, I'm already not liking the set up for this one. On just page nine, the party leader said they intend to split the party assets so that the MC can get the 25% he deserves, but when the MC turns it down this was already a bad sign. That's like turning down a high value severance package when you get laid off from work, because you don't want to inconvenience the company. Also if they're all long time friends, him leaving the party doesn't mean that's it for their friendship. It's not the end. There are literally plenty of things he could do for them if he wanted, especially since this is set in the modern day/ near future.

And that's all before a literal Deus Ex Machina turns up to give him new abilities to solve his problems. One of the fun things about this trope is when the MC figures out/ comes to the realisation that his ability was secretly OP all along or at least had the potential for it. Even if he only gets the thing he needs one level up after being expelled, it's fun because we get to see his hidden potential. As much as the story tries to imply that his party could have done more to help him keep up with the level curve, if his job class can only be made worthwhile after being given a skill from a supernatural being, that kind of breaks the power fantasy here for me. It's an admission that his job is not good without outside intervention.

And did we really need to make him the "chosen one" as well? Man who has been a part of the worlds best adventuring party all this time finds out he was secretly also the most important person all along, not because of his abilities but because the plot said so, isn't all that compelling in my opinion.

So.....he's basically Vauban from Warframe with his traps, now he just got another one of Vauban's abilities (part of his second ability)

Why is this kicked from party slop ranked #4? Can't you fuckers have some original tastes and not consume slop for once? Fuck this place

The whole point of 'getting kicked out of my adventurer party' stories is to show them how big your dick is when you're actually fighting at your full potential a.k.a. without getting saddled with useless teammates. The fact that MC was given a random powerup defeats the purpose of that, plus we can't even use the revenge angle because only the discord admin alone was responsible for kicking him out without telling the other members, and they even parted ways without any hard feelings.

Honestly, rather than that 'chosen one' 'got super power from powerful being' cliche,

I think a story about the MC being desperate for more power finding out a hidden skill in his class would make a better story

Another manga that has an unnecessarily long title. Why does the title needed to be this long?
It's a product of the environment for authors of Web Novels.
The site(s) that is(are) commonly used for WN show a list of titles, authors realized unique titles don't work to draw attention and began writing synopsis as the title as a tactic to fight for reader's attention.

The pipeline for these types of manga are typically: WN -> LN -> Manga.
So for authors that don't have a brand yet, they need someway to attract attention to their novels.

I feel like this needs to be pinned more, this has been the case for almost a decade at this point.

Lol comments are mad that this manga doesn't satisfy their "I am underappreciated by everyone but I'm actually amazing, you guys just refuse to see it" itch.

I actually like the reasonable take here. Party leader respectfully tells a team member he isn't able to keep up with them anymore. Party member understands the reason, is sad, but accepts that the leader made a rational decision and they made a noticeable effort to protect and help him keep up with them. They go their separate way and figure out ways to cope from having a friend leave a party.

Even without that arrow skill, as long as your leader is smart, she can use your skill to distract enemies...

This MC dude is really in need of some imagination and ingenuity. Dude, if the enemy can avoid your trap, why don't you just envelope your entire body with trap and do kamikaze. Geez, a dude from Black Bull can do better job with his limited mana.
What happen if he dead too? World will remember him as a dumb, bruh 😭

1) Introduce OP skills
2) Pretend it is useless and despised by everyone else
3) Make a harem of people who are specifically attracted to said skills
Yea, been there, seen that.
Also, traps are among the oldest ways humanity fought, exterminating whole species with pitfalls and slipknots. Traps in the form of landmines are still efficient way of combat.
Moreso in fantasy setting - DnD thief can singlehandedly defeat ancient dragons as long as you give him prep time.

So the first time we see a trap is when it's on a surface. The next time the Slash trap is the ground which is evaded without problem but then MC just puts the Arrow trap on thin air? Why didn't he just put a Slash trap on the air? It's not as if we had a baseline for how traps worked prior to meeting the mysterious girl and gaining one ability. Chapter 1 and already I'm seeing problems with this magic system.

Ridiculous restrictions where do these authors come up with this stuff. Do they go through a bargain bin of ideas. Sigh. The premise of modern world is ok. As much of the time manhwas' are mostly set in the modern world. Most manga are not.

Can't he just put traps on top of monsters? Is there a remote activation skill? Can he move the traps? Can he set a trap on an object which he can then throw? Can he use a trap as a shield against magic or projectiles? Can he surround a monster with traps? Can he set traps in mid-air, and create a sphere around a monster? Can he cast his traps fast enough to use as a mage? How exactly do monsters detect his traps? Can he conceal the visibility of his traps? Can he conceal a trap's mana? If he placed his trap within a bush, would that low-level monster still detect his trap? Can he create a regular, physical pitfall trap, then fill the bottom with his magic traps, so that they are more difficult to detect? Can he use a shield, and deflect a monster into a trap? Can he place a trap on a shield which he is wielding? Can he activate a trap by touching it himself? Can he set up a huge funnel of traps, and then kite a rampaging monster species into it? Can he get a tank party member to use a taunt skill to easily pull monsters into traps? Can he just put a trap right in front of a monster, such as directly where it will put down its feet, land after a jump, or go during a charge, so it can't dodge? What does his trap power scale off of? Magic power? If so, can he learn normal spells? Don't his basic stats still grow normally? If leveling up naturally increases the body's strength, can't he still fight normally like a basic adventurer? Why is his level so much lower than his party members? Do party members share exp? Is it based on last hit or damage contribution? Is there a setting to equally split exp? How do healers, rogues, alchemists, etc. gain exp? They should be an intermediary that can be used as a reference for his growth, as a support class! Can he...

Like, wtf. This 'arrow trap' is great, but it shouldn't be that big of a buff to him. And he even said "as long as I can touch the monster, I can (use the arrow trap to launch it into my traps)"; so... he CAN use traps directly on a monster, and with little-to-no cast time or with a charged up cast?

Bro is just suffering from zero power backstory development.

I must eventually learn to read these titles.... I would avoid disappointment in the middle of a chapter. It already seemed interesting, and here it is again!

He sees he has a new trap and decides to go test it out on monsters, but when he puts his normal traps down first he's just doing it right in front of the monster and then is trying to frame it like Trap Masters are useless since monsters have to die to the trap to get xp. It really just seems like he's the reason he isn't a successful trap master. Put some traps down before trying to fight a monster so it doesn't just run around it, work with people that can make monsters go where the traps are. It's hilarious how "woe is me" the MC is on top of getting a power boost for no reason when the only issue with him being useful is he's just fucking stupid. He has a fire trap, you could just burn an entire area using other materials like flammable liquids or gasses if you were that incapable of getting a monster to run into it
