No matter what you say about chiyo she still is Rentaro's girlfriend and he loves her. If you have a problem with her then you will have to go through him. Plus the only reasons that people hate chiyo is because 1 She's Rentaro's cousin. 2 She's 12. And 3 because she always says rgghh everytime she See's something indecent. If chiyo was older than Rentaro or not related to him, people wouldn't hate on her as much as they do. People find her annoying because she always need things in order and clean, but that's just because of her ataxophobia.(Look it up if you do not know what it means.)

I literally don't care about her family ties/age. I'm not that much of a retard to judge a character writing based on something so trivial.

To everyone saying she's just another Chiyo, when Hahari was first introduced, her personality did a complete 180 after she started dating Rentarou (and she's as horny as Hakari with her own distinct quirk). I wonder if her personality will change afterwards? I have faith in the author

I’m expecting that she’ll:
be adamantly against stuff and then fold after a bit of pressing
say no but her body will move on it’s own
she’ll desperately try to hold back all the time (because she can’t judge them if she’s just as bad) bit she always fails and is the most horny out of all of them

i just hope she keeps her “rule abiding” attitude in some way instead of being another flavor of Hahari

edit: ORRRRR (and I think this one will how she’ll be acting) based on how she was like “you mustn’t… >///< you mustn’t…” At the end, THAT will be her thing!

See? THIS is how you write a law-abiding character right amidst the cluster of insanity that is the Rentarou family.

The thing is, Chiyo‘s resolve to fix everything was so unconditional that it actually broke the Rentarou family. To date, she is the only GF to have done that still. And it figures. It is very hard for this this type of character to function in such an environment, and she didn’t, and thus, a third of Chiyo’s traits was cut.

That’s right, you may not remember this, but back at her debut, Chiyo used to call out misbehaviors with her « Hrrrngh » AND take action to fix it immediately. But for a minute now, she’s been reduced to a « Hrrrngh » running-gag, to a worse extent than Hahari in my opinion, with desperate attempts to make her likeable with 1 on 1 chapters with Rentarou that fell kinda flat. Aside from her backstory with her mom that’s been teased for a while I genuinely don’t know how to save this character.

The interesting part of Kimari’s writing is whereas Chiyo « « « « « freed » » » » » herself from her obsessive ick because of necessity, Kimari was freed from the shackles of her values through Rentarou’s words, which is much better objectively, at least from a romcom standpoint.

By the way Rentarou this chapter? Easy top 5 Chadtarou moments. That speech… That rizz… 10/10

The thing that differentiates Morikita with Chiyo isn't just their age, it's also the core reason on why they became "stickler to the rules"

Morikita is older so she has been repressed for a longer time but her reason is because it's what her parents told her to do.

Meanwhile Chiyo only has less years of repression but at the same time her repression is something she realistically didn't have a choice to say no to.

The mere fact that Rentarou saw through that deep inside Morikita lies the desire to break the rules is already a good separator for her similarities with Chiyo, and you see that more on how they behave when they "let loose". Morikita acts like a teenager while Chiyo acts somehow acts like a mother.

Their behavior are practically what they "lost" that is tied to the reason of their repression.

TLDR:

Morikita technically had a choice all throughout her childhood until being a teacher to break the rules while Chiyo practically doesn't have the chance to be a kid until Rentarou.

Addendum, to the person that said Rentarou's line was a bit "rapey" as someone who have a lot of close friends that were beholden to being this perfect and pure person, a good majority of them have rape(for the extremes) or consensual non-consent(for the calmer ones) as their fetishes.
