Beggar is just occupation in my city. And they make quite a good money. So we learned to never give them cash - buy them a meal or whatever they need. But no cash.

I remember once giving a beggar a bunch of loose change that amounted to about $5 in coins - a bit annoying for him to carry, sure, but it was money - he shoved it back in my hand and got furious at me for 'giving him chump change' or something of the like.

Frankly, I've had a few experiences like that with homeless, so now I just outright refuse to ever deal with them.
