I totally get what you mean. I kinda hate that so many manga emphasize marriage when the characters haven't even functionally dated at all. It's such a weird schism from reality, which I guess could only come from weird idealized versions of high school relationships by mangaka I guess (or maybe it's the editors?? Like maybe otaku are super into this idea and wouldn't want realistic depictions of dating?? Is it a slut shaming thing?? God who fucking knows)
