I mean, it's a library, it's not like the book gets read once and then rots on a shelf. It gets read a lot of times until it ends up in the old book selection to begin with.
I’m talking about the book, i.e., the publisher and author, not the library.

If they truly wanted to reduce waste (they = author and publisher of the book), they should have made better decisions, instead of revising the book into 3 books. Hence, despite the book title, their choice is most likely driven by profit and not what the book title says.
I’m talking about the irony in that.

And just to be very clear when I said book, I meant the book titled “Considering the Era of Mass Disposal” and not this series.

Sometimes its not the author but the publisher who has rights to the work and makes these type of decisions to make money or based on customer usage.
Also i like the idea of giving old books for free for patrons to take instead of throwing them away. But usually its books that are outdated that are recycled or popular or rare editions that are sold by the libraries

MARINOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :worry: :shamihuh::notlikethis::oooo:

  1. Look as much as I like to sympathize and give benefit of the doubt, and she doesn't want to be at the Library, she really should still do her tasks so she can leave the library. Delaying and causing more trouble than its worth isn't do anyone or her any favours. I'm surprised at this point she isn't fired at this point, which means she has been doing the bare minimum but that only goes for so long-

  2. The free books for avaliable reminded me that my local library, they regular hold book sales instead for books they can't put in their library or aren't needed anymore, which the funds from said books go back to the library.

Thanks for the translations and hard work! Much appreciated as always!!

If Marino has a million fans, then I am one of them. If Marino has ten fans, then I am one of them. If Marino has only one fan then that is me. If Marino has no fans, then that means I am no longer on earth. If the world is against Marino, then I am against the world

I agree, and most of the time the author is not going to say no either, unless they’re having a dispute with the publisher. The worst ones these days of this practice are textbooks.

On books giveaway, I’ve seen that done too with old books and I got some technical books from the 80’s this way.
I think if the library made money off old books which is then used for upkeep or new books, I’d be fine with that. Though now that I think about it, if the book fetched a lot of money then maybe it shouldn’t be sold in the first place, it’s a not a simple decision…. Hmmm
