This oneshort so bad that even a ntr manga has a better story.
All character are so wrong from the girl who f* around and get pregnant because she could't be with childhood crush
To the girl let the girl f* around because she want her crush enjoy the last moment of unmarried life
The whole story is lack of sense ,unresponsibility, realism and is totally redicilous
One misunderstanding that she doesn't bother to properly follow up on or communicate about - so she takes it as permission to whore the fuck out and become the town bicycle. Getting plowed RAW by countless dudes to the point that she doesn't even know who the dad is when she finds out she's pregnant.
Then the love interest is COMPLETELY okay with this and reasons her ho behavior as her wanting to live up her life before getting married (?????????) despite, in her twisted logic, them being engaged already? So she's completely fine with her fiancee getting raw-dogged by the whole town? What the fuck?
I assume the author thought that this was supposed to be sweet and heartwarming but the reality is that it's just cringe and retarded. Never cook again, holy shit. I hate every person in this one-shot.
Here's a hint as to what happens after the last page.
Smells of typical bad female writer tropes, where there is no accountability for any female character and everything is forgiven with no negative consequences.
Ya.... Whatever
Really, I can't understand people like that...
Is it that scarry to just ask something to the person you care enough to ask them to marry you ?
FUCKING TALK TO EACH OTHER!
Also, the dad has to take his fucking responsibilities or at least to know about it. Like, you were two in there.
"But she doesn't care about the father" so why would she sleep with him if she doesn't care about him. And it wasn't even about money
I really can't understand people like that.
And I found it egoist to keep a child when you know you don't have the stability, the money, the capacity to take care of it and you will be entirely responsible of others person.
Accident happen of course, but I prefer to avoid putting a child in a miserable environment
The story would have been a lot more impactful had the author just leaned on the teen pregnancy angle instead of shoehorning in the yuri love story, which frankly made no sense because the author rushed through Umi and Haru childhood relationship.
Umi made a promise to marry Haru in kindergarten, and the relationship was fairly stable until Haru said she wants to go to college oversea, which is a good 8-10 years away. Instead of talking about it with Haru or trying to study so that they can both go to an oversea college together, Umi decided that their love is doomed without any input from Haru and slept with anyone who asked her out. Like if Umi can’t go oversea for some reason, is long distance relationship not an option? The whole Umi Haru thing is built on such a flimsy premise and collapsed on a similarly silly reason that it’s hard to take the drama seriously.
There are a bunch of different ways the Author could have chosen to portray Umi’s behavior, like maybe she had conservative parents, or prejudice classmates, or just society’s negative view on same sex relationship, instead Umi immediately bugged out the moment her crush indicated she wants to do her own things.
The best part of the story was a lesbian getting railed over by so many men that she doesn't even know who the father is. I don't know how many men you'd have to sleep with in 2-3 weeks to accidentally get pregnant and not even know the father, especially since she was using condoms most of the time.
And she was doing this since middle school.
Teenage pregnancy being romanticised like this is concerning. She's a child, and lacks the maturity and awareness to raise another child. Her behaviour pretty much shows that she hasn't even though about the long term reality of having to raise a child as single mom who barely completed high school.
The author tried to draw cute, but for most people this "cute" is disturbing. I don't believe that the Japanese population crisis is bad enough for people to want high schoolers to get pregnant.
The art is cute, but wth on earth you can believe your girlfriend sleep around is just a way to enjoy her unmarried life?! Girl, you suppose to be smart! They are both so weird, but thanks god they find each other.
This story is very disgusting and wild. Just reading page nine is like a wtf moment for me.
This is nothing like what happens in real life.
The parents are nonexistent.
Edit disclaimer: She's already gotten past middle school, so most of what I said in the spoiler comes from a wrong assumption. But even if that's true, with the writing not making this clear and the drawing being petite and cute, it could totally be in middle school.
If you don't make it clear, you're kind of giving the image this happens in middle school, and that's a very disgusting image to give, even if it's unintended, and it's also not a token of good writing.
She fucked around enough to not know who the father is in MIDDLE SCHOOL??? That doesn't make sense ("Junior high schools (中学校 chūgakkō) (7th-9th grade) are for children aged twelve through fifteen years old.").
Who in their right mind would keep the baby when still being in middle school? It's drawn like a happy fairy tale; they're gonna get married and live happily ever after, but this is totally impossible in reality. Just to write a flirty love relationship of two females who discover themselves at this age.
Don't go feed this bs to your daughters.
Obviously they're both still living at their parents' place, but their parents or advising doctors don't exist in this story, and that's just not happening in reality.
They'll both have to drop out to pay rent; they won't have any way of sustaining themselves at this age like this. You don't want a future like that for the baby and yourself. No sane parent would allow this. I believe so, at least.
In the off chance her parents pay for her life and the baby's life until the girl can make a decent living on her own, well it would mean the parents can afford to do so and have a caretaker for the baby for the girl to make a life of herself at this time. Or one of the girls drops out to mitigate the cost. But you still fucked your prospects for this, at least for one of them. And all of this is still highly improbably happening. And it would happen with way more pain than how it's depicted in this story.
This is a ridiculous fantasy.
To conclude: I'm not a fan of the way things are used at all, just for a lovey-dovey story. I think this is dumb, unaware, and irresponsible writing.
What, you're assuming a lot of thing (if not most of them) and think it's acceptable to assume as such when it really isn't. There are enough clues to tell you what the story is (although a bit fairy tale) but you're just acting like you can't read to attack the story with wrongs points. But at least you are not alone.
