I heard from the throwaway account that uploaded the newest higehiro on MD about a box-ticking requirement that asks the uploader to confirm that they have the necessary rights to the materials being uploaded. If that's true, basically MD's trying to shift any any blames and legal actions towards the uploader.
Dunno if that's THE reason but I'd imagine it plays a part.
