i went and checked again the chap 1, she was mostly defending their promise, they also probably lied that she was ok with him getting kicked out as she was not even present so i do believe she is okay, the mage is probably the one who messed with the hero's mind but he still went through with it
anyway he will not be going back for sure, as for Asu i don't think she will be around much

Yes, she wasn't around and they lied, but that would give her even more reason to question the childhood friend, instead she defends him and makes excuses for him pretty much gaslights mc into thinking he didn't just do that absolutely maliciously and has shown as much 😐

Why? She is close to both of them. They are both childhood friends, and not being an actual witness to what happened, and knowing how they both are, she is quick to make assumptions based on what she knows. Rather than condemn the other childhood friend outright, she understands there was a third party basically putting ideas in his head which led to his rash actions. It's not wrong for her to try and be a peacemaker for the trio, it actually makes sense.
