the problem is that he tries to FORCE his ideals on someone who disagrees with him and he keeps to just charge in battles without checking things out first.. he also assumes he is the "GOOD" guy.. which he is not. he is an asshole. he keeps to try to diss MC and did even try to convince the girls to join him because MC is a bad man once. he got punished for that shitty behavior.

It is NO excuse for his actions against MC. he should have seen too much death and insanity to remain this naive.

after the incident in the dungeon, the demon invasion, reveal of betrayal by two of his other classmates that were never really on anyone's radar, and the death and second death of the man who had become Kouki's mentor and more or less father figure in this fantasy world. I agree with you, the idiot has had far too many very real examples dropped in his lap about how the world he's been dragged to is just as murky and gray as the world he came from. at this point in the story, he's basically resorting to escapism.

being legally an adult is an entirely different thing then being an adult especially with such different circumstances. But you know that and just want to rage for no reason at least find someone deserving of it.

Finally got to the start of S3 equivalent. Good to know the manga continues on instead of trying to race the anime's pace.

If it's Kouki's harsh awakening y'all want, you'll need to be around for a good while longer. But if his ego pounding is good enough, we should get some of that at the end of the Great Labyrinth after this one, if my memory serves.
