There’s already a very dedicated team doing this one and there are plenty of really good mangas that either haven’t been updated for 3+ months or got dropped after the purge. It's like you didn't read what I said, I never said it was NTR, I said it felt NTR, probably because badmouthing the previous lover is a common trope in NTR. Also aside from his stepmother all the women introduced so far appear to not have husbands so the chances this doesn't end up in NTR is pretty decent.

People just read whatever one they felt like. Some did faster translations, others did better technical work, others did more accurate translations- everyone had their own niche. Then Jaimini's Box and a couple others started making stink about other teams horning in on their series, trying to push out other teams from translating the works they were working on so they could create artificial scarcity and thus charge people for the privledge of reading their translations. There's probably more lead-up to it, maybe some other group or groups tried it first, but Jaimini's Box and co. were the first ones to make it really stick. There were sites that were taking fan translations and then selling access to them before that in the days of the Duwang translation being written, for example, but it was just a shittier version of the many aggregators that exist today, and those got thankfully quickly stomped out.

To be honest, it seems to me that this translation is better; more accurate and easier to read.
You may say it is a waste of effort given how many untranslated series there are, but you can't expect a person to simply obey you and dedicate those efforts where they don't want.
If you know you can do a better job, you are free to do it. Readers will be the ones to judge: if they like your translation, they will read it, or not...

There were also a lot of translators back in the day that would yell snipe, and then burn their whole catalog away, because if you think you can do better, 'then do so without my translations' to compare to.
