The plot is quite different compared to the Web Novel in this part, as the older sister never really attacked MC in it.

Based on what's in the WN regarding the younger sister revealed later on in the plot, my guess is that the Author changed the older sister's plot somewhat and made her a siscon as well, like her younger sister is in the WN, and the attack on MC in this chapter is probably a small revenge for harming her younger sister.

Maybe the author now has and editor who help with adapting the story to manga format and help steering the story to be smoother than the WN version.

That is usually the case; WNs are always treated as drafts, and some can be cringe or more graphic than what the public/publisher would’ve wanted. Also, it’s a chance to revise the story, now that some time has passed, and you think that the MC could’ve fucked the harem more intensely or something.

I've binged through the web novel and it's just a massive nothing burger. The characters haven't grown in the slightest and it's frustrating. The MC refusal to think despite being mentally 20 years old piss me off sometimes. And I love how much of a garbage this series is.

VERY different from the novel.
I'm not gonna spoiler it because is not, we passed it.
In the novel MC doesn't get attacked from the big sister, she appears on the roof right after the dumb lil sis gets almost killed and healed from MC, she apologizes and stays until she recover consciousness.
She and MC never fight, at all, the exorcist family already knew MC was too strong to handle and really wanted to observe him, there are some old heads that believe MC is too dangerous but is literally only something they can talk about but not act on it, and when MC was told off by the cops he still decides to use his power whenever he wants, he just made clear he will not abuse it and turn in a criminal, that is very different from just not countering a ambush.
I can predict that the next chapter will be big sis asking MC to meet with their family head or asking the favour that is

Yeah which is very odd as well, considering later on after the whole situation resolved, Miyako
herself declared that Mio would be MC's fiancee.
Maybe Author changed the plot around Mio & Miyako in the Light Novel, so thatthey aren't really that important anymore, based on there portrayal in the WN.
