I kind of want more details on the discard part. He claimed it was palm size objects, yet he tries to use it on a goblin suggesting it possibly could burrow through anything palm-sized hole at a time. It could have actually been OP, depending on whether his failed attempt at using it was the correct interpretation.

This "childhood promise" ones are really funny. You have this girl promising to get together with the MC but absolutely doesn't give a fuck about him until he gets OP. You never see them trying to be with them or even visit them for a bit. They are always years apart since the last time they've seen eachother but somehow still dedicated to one another.
