That is really nothing but a hint that can mean a number of things, from the father being ,reincarnated/time traveler/esper of some short/etc to just a paranoid man who had a bad dream.

Also it's quite silly from a narrative perspective to have anyone estrange and ostracize the one person who can do something that can potentially destroy you.

I've seen a ton of other such narratives where someone is trying to avoid a known future where it ends bad for them.
If it's a stranger they just try to avoid it. If it's unavoidable then try to befriend, cajole, enamor etc said person.
But never such a thing as isolating that person and giving it the cold shoulder. And that's because such a move is making it all but certain that it will have no qualms to bring you down, if for no other reason than just out of spite for isolating it whilst giving its sibling everything.
You completely missed the point.
It's not about his daughter "potentially destroying him", it's the opposite. He doesn't care that she might hate or destroy him, he cares that she doesn't become a victim herself.

its pretty dumb to mistreat her tho. You can still keep her in captivity while caring for her. also doesnt explain her brothers or mothers treatment.

....and your excuse for a potential lifetime of isolation and separation as well as receiving mistreatment from the other members of your family...is...he did it for her benefit?
Really?
And you see no issue with this line of argument?

Here are three ways he could achieve the exact same results (or arguably exponentially better.) that I came up from the top of my head.

1)Keep her hidden but refrain from treating her like an unwanted pariah and instead shower her with love. That way there is less chance of someone from the staff taking pity on her and informing other relatives of her mistreatment(like it happened in this chapter).
2)Send her to be adopted/taken care of, outside of the nation under an alias by a trusted friend or relative.
3)Send her in some short of monastery to live , until she outgrows the age you saw her in whatever premonition you might have had etc.

ANYTHING other than treat her like an unwanted pest... heck, he can see that she is showing signs of advanced (for her age) intelligence, he could just sit her down and explain that he is keeping her from the world, in order to protect her.
Because his treatment reminds me of the "solution" the AI overlord in I.Robot, came up with in order to make certain that it follows its directive of keeping humanity safe (AKA keeping them imprisoned for their own good). And it's not a smart solution.

spoiler below for why the family treats her bad. It's a pretty big spoiler and will probably take the manga a long time to get to it.

The world that magnolia is isekai'd into is an otome game world (one that she's never heard of or played). She is born as one of the games two main villainess'. The actions her father took to AVOID her bad future are actually part of the lore/backstory for why magnolia was to become an evil character. In the game story she's hidden away and treated poorly by her family and then suddenly unveiled at the age of 5 as a daughter of the family and by this time she's completely rotten. When magnolia later figures all this out, it's also later revealed, that her family (mainly her mother and brother) get intense feelings of disgust/anger when near mangolia and so that affects how they treat her. This also affects her father but not as heavily as his wife/son due to his fairy bloodline having a stronger influence on him. Since this is a game world it's speculated that her family has no choice but to have these feelings towards her, even once it's revealed to them, they can fight the feelings off a little but are still in visible anguish so they agree to do their best to avoid each other. Basically it's their game script or a "curse" left over to make the MC into the character she was supposed to become even after she changed her path.

spoilers for why her father keeps her locked up?

Below should be revealed not too far from now

Her bloodline on her fathers side is part fairy and sometimes people are born able to use certain powers. Her fathers ability allows him to see someones future and when he touched his daughter for the first time ,after she was born, he saw her future starting a war / being a villainess/ being imprisoned for life. To avoid this outcome he began avoiding the royal family and locked her away to try to avoid events that would lead to that future for her

there's a lot more to the above spoilers like why her family treats her like crap but thatd involve some giga spoilers im not prepared to write out lol
Very similar to a certain dumbass queen who ignores her daughter to prevent her future as an evil queen.

Lol. Hopefully the father is smarter than that and this plan was meant to be obvious so the grandfather can intervene.

Okay people, I went ahead and looked up the WN just to answer this question.

Obviously spoilers

As you might have guessed, this world is the world of an otome game. Magnolia (age 16) is a secondary villainess. She and the main villainess Gardenia (age 17) are competing for the crown princess position with the loser becoming a concubine. In the game her defining features were her ditziness and huge chest. She would harass the obligatory commoner/baron's illegitimate daughter heroine Margaret (age 16) while battling with the main villainess for the prince's love. As the trope goes, the heroine wins, both villainesses have the engagement broken off in a public condemnation event, and they are confined to a convent for the rest of their lives.

Adding insult to injury, Magnolia's father Gerald (age 42) and brother Brian (age 19) were both enthralled with the heroine and did not defend her as she cried out to them. However, Magnolia's bullying was so pathetically low-level it only endeared her to the fans of the game. Her character design (beautiful, dumb, huge tits) made her so popular, she became the heroine of the sequel.

The set up of that is as follows:

Prince Julius (age 18) studying from abroad at the academy alongside heroine, Magnolia, etc. could not bear to see her mistreatment and tried to ask for her hand in marriage. The request was denied because criminal scum was not appropriate for a foreign prince. Later on, Uncle Claude (age 32) hears what happened and is heartbroken that a niece he had never even heard of had gone through this. He protests that the punishment of life imprisonment did not fit the crime and asked to take Magnolia back to Azenda. This request is also denied.

In desperation, Claude seeks out Magnolia himself and manages to catch a glimpse of her in the carriage as she is led away. He falls in love with her at first sight. He reveals the secret of his birth as the Grand Duke of Azenda everyone believed to be dead. He declares the reestablishment of the Principality of Azenda, raises an army, and wages war against the Kingdom of Ascald to free Magnolia. Hearing this news, Prince Julius also declares war on Ascald to save Magnolia.

Gerald's reason for concealing Magnolia all this time is because he has seen this future. The best solution he could come up with is concealing her existence for as long as he can because the story is trying to correct everything he is doing back to the original plot.
Conceal her hor as long as he can? Until when? The event isn't even starting yet. Also, does the mom knows? Or she just went along?

That's definitely the one, the queen with her self-fulfilling prophecy that if she treats her daughter like shit, the daughter totally won't lash out and take revenge on her abusive family.
And as of latest chapter, her big ego still stops her from connecting with her first born.
And she enjoys being the victim while her husband showers her with words of affection.
Disgusting

I don't know the spoilers far ahead, but from what we could get, both parents are aware of the future and are pretty sad that things have to be this way. That's why the mother is always holding a cat that looks like MC while hiding her face when acting the villainess and the father isolated her with a bunch of ultra capable maids. He setting her up to get angry at her family and to get the means to hold her ground when the eventual break comes. And she did, she learned the basics of how to defend herself, something to start getting her own money and how to interact with commoners. I think the only thing he did not take into acount is the fact that MC is actually an adult in mental age

I figured out that it would be an otome isekai and that the father had seen the future, but the details are both fascinating and a bit disturbing. Why are there so many older men falling for younger women? The father of Magnolia fell for the heroine, and the Uncle fell for Magnolia??
