a bit confused here.. didn't she grow quite a bit these past some chapters? Why is she silently getting manhandled by a stranger playboy in broad daylight in public (literally 1 panel before shows another man chilling)?

Also, is the mean misogynist allowed the benefit of the doubt because he could be considered hotter than ML? Kinda weird of her considering her overall stance until just now. I really don't see why she would stay and engage him like this.

Ngl, the original second half has been quite a lot worse and out of character even with it being only 2 chapters in.

Waiting to learn more about the new dude’s circumstances to see where it goes, his first interactions with fmc were kinda bad, he had no reason to be that mean with her.

I’d like to see fmc getting what she wants and becoming independent, without any love interest or such, but for no I still prefer her ending with the new dude than her getting back with the manchild :pepehmm: also that princess can go fuck herself too, she is as clueless as the manchild in relationships
Thanks for the translation

But why? Because he is new? Hot? He is ML 2.0 but arguably even worse because he is an actual misogynistic asshole multiple times, completely denying her development, future and dream.
A stranger with a wildly negative view on women that is completely offensive and contrarian to what her whole character has been about. Can't just explain that away.

Why should she ignore all her growth and allow him to speak, listen to anything he says/does and even question it afterwards when she doesn't with ML (she sadly already out of character did all that this chapter).

If she engages him any more literally all of her character development until now would be betrayed and moot.
Her character is more than able to distinct between men good and bad for her (e.g. the café guy and the foreign prince).

Because he's barely had any screen time, and so far he was rude to her at one meeting, as his competitor. Compared to Keios, who has been a neglectful moron for years.

Basile can show that he's not misogynistic to his core and was only a jerk at first glance. He could show that he has circumstances that led him to being a jerk. And most importantly, he could help her so much that it invalidates his jerk time. He's clearly being set up as someone who helps her find a conversation partner. That would more than make up for his poor behavior.

I’ll give this (presumably) new lead some time. How long it takes for him to get over the misogynistic notions he has about women will be the determinant really.

The difference between him and Keios as it stands is really that Keios knew her for most of his life and this guy met her like yesterday. Plenty of time for him to come around and form some new beliefs.

Also gotta remember the time period this takes place in, the society the story takes place in itself is misogynistic. Dude’s grown up in the system. Give him a break.

keios is such an emotional wreck dude hes acting on some of the worst logic/emotions and its just fucking him so hard. hes acting on everybodys advice and not what his heart feels so everything he does is halfhearted and fake, before and now. he takes half measures and this just makes bro so unattractive. probably one of the best examples of fumbling relationships

It's ok if you use normal casing for a different language, much better than when people change to those fancy fonts that it's hard to read some of their letters, but maybe put a note when they start speaking iliegese as a reminder for us readers.

I don't like this new guy but i guess he's going to have a sob story and people will approve of him.

Keios, still letting everyone else decide things for him instead of taking initiative. Even just trying to arrange a tutor for his fiancee with his own funds wouldve been a nice gesture that shed appreachiate and you could still escort her there. Or maybe even try learning alongside her to show interest in something she likes for once. Its really not that difficult man.

It pains me to read how nicole tried all manner of things to get keios to interact with her in a desperate attempt to salvage their relationship, while keios is over here sucking his thumb wondering why everyone wants to keep him away from nicole.

Im guessing this is how they try to redeem claude? "Oh he wasnt a misogynist, thats just him being a tsundere" and "oh he has a complicated history with his grandma". Idt thatll work, but maybe the author goes against what i expected like he did with keios(so far atleast he hasnt been portrayed as a good person, which is more than i can say of some othe rmangas in this genre). Also his friends seems really skeevy im ngl, i would not hang around a dude like that(inb4 its just a persona).

I kinda get why they seem to think that if claude shows up with a girl that shes engage to him tho, if i knew this guy and saw how he usually acted, i would never expect him to have any female friends or any woman want to hang out with him

Thanks for the chapter!

I don't think the limited interactions they've had so far are enough to say her character has been completely assassinated. They've only met twice lol. Nicole is a kind person, and understands that not everyone will like her. It's why she isn't cussing out Keios every chance she gets; she's kind and knows that hostility won't get her anywhere. It's not like she sought out involvement with him either; she's just handling what's been thrown her way.

To say that she should stop interacting with him outright seems like undermining the agency that she's currently developing. She's not "accepting" the misogyny, rather, recognizing it and not letting others dictate her actions. She should be allowed to navigate the patriarchal world on her own terms and pace.

We're only 12 chapters in, and if the author does it well, It can be a great learning experience for her to decide what to accept and possibly reclaim power in the dynamic^^ But hey, that's what's great about an ongoing series, the story is still unfolding (◔‿◔)
