Prepared to make enemies to protect Monica. Again shows why she's best girl.

"I wanted to warn Miss Isabelle not to torment that girl too much."
Yeah, about that...

"She doesn't know her place."
She's also not trying to act outside it anyway, even if you believe that BS.

Her essay would naturally be about coordinates.

"Magecraft requires incredible amounts of calculation."
And that's why Monica is so strong.

So in this chapter, we have two characters fangirling about our witch.

I kind of love how unabashedly nerdy some of the cast is. Yes we do have our usual fantasy sticklers, but for the main duo and the supporting cast to just nerd out in their free time is very funny.

I guess you could also just call them characters that have passions, things they care about deeply outside of social circumstances. It’s easy for characters to be written with a ‘gimmick’, something that defines them in-story and for the audience to latch on to, but weirdly I don’t feel like I’m being marketed a trope as much as I do other series in the genre.

"If she gets bullied I can emotionally manipulate her easier"

>"A genius mage who can arrive at the optimal solution to a complex magical formula in an instant. And thus, didn't need to chant."
.>In reality, is so asocial that chanting around others would make her vomit or faint.
.>Was about to be flunked out of magic school if she didn't start casting some magic, so she developed chantless casting simply so she wouldn't have to speak around other people.

Why does he need to appear publicly ignorant of magecraft? Some peculiarity of nobility?

Anyway, page 2, bottom left panel, "incinerate" should be "incinerating".
Thanks, fixed.

I can't go into too much detail because it would be a spoiler. But it's not because he's part of the nobility,
but because in his role as “Duke Clockford's puppet” he doesn't know magic. And the rest of the world must not find out that he knows or there will be a crisis in the war for the throne.
