Feel like they could've gotten by in the early days by choosing targets who were overconfident and higher level than them.

Like imagine you see a party of level 20 fighters with a level 15 healer and the fighters are all boasting about how they're gonna go on this clearly too difficult for them mission and reassuring the healer that everything will be fine.

And then later you see that party return and the fighters are mentally wrecked but physically fine.

That definitely seems like not the healer's fault.
