The Japanese are taught (to the point of indoctrination and flying planes into ships) that conformity and duty are the most important reason to exist. To "rebel" by standing out is considered almost criminal (excepting certain occupations) and will make you the outsider in a culture with xenophobic tendencies.

2019 story:

Tokyo public schools will stop forcing students to dye their hair black, official promises
that’s pretty crazy if true.

I mean I guess it makes an environment free from distractions? Idk that’s a pretty small silver lining.

I still hate the Japanese obsession with making sure idols aren’t even in any relationships. It’s just a creepy feeling of jealousy and unable to separate work from personal life.

No idol is “yours” and once they are off camera, they are just a person.
Part of it is the industry's fault for playing into it, profiting from such parasocial-ness(?), but yes the fanbases are deluded fucks. I just don't understand why your reaction to an idol having a lover wouldn't be 'congrats to them, hope they live a good fulfilling live'

He might have grown past his actual chuuni phase, but he’s still a little gothlet with an interest in the macabre as well as real life pathology so I can see him going into forensics or mortuary careers in the future.
IKR? Kyotaro Ichikawa as a coroner and one of his jobs will be making the autopsy of Anna Yamada's corpse after a fan murdered her. So cute! (?!!!)
