I think she is the system and it keeps trying to fix itself but since she doesn't remember her past life, it's scaring the crap out of her when it tries to link up.

It's clear there are players in this game but they are disassociated with their real lives somehow, perhaps for immersion sake. But some of the players still remember their real lives and that this is game.... so perhaps she decided to properly debug that by doing the same thing they did but some hackers or something decided to take over by putting her in a normal player state rather than the bugged player state.

I think I partially agree; Qianqiu is the system's intelligence and sapient that somehow got separated from the rest of the system.

I wonder I the "original" system is evil?

I don't think it's evil. It just a purposely designed construct. Sure the ones within the system may see it as evil but it's not designed to be. Like either her world keeps getting reset on death or she is jumping from one game instance to the next and the system is like, "FK! Stop killing instances and let players play in their seperate worlds, come back already..."

true, most systems aren't really "evil"
like most societies in history function off the labor of the lowest-classes, whether that be serfs of feudalism,
slaves of Rome, or the poor/uneducated sweatshop workers producing for any modern country.
Certainly "evil" if you're one of those getting screwed over, but for everybody else, it's just normality.
