As her doctor he should already know her sizes, but finding clothes that properly fit her body, and complements her looks is another demon. And it’s not like she can try them on before they’re purchased. He basically lucked out.

Realistically for a man, buying women’s clothing and other feminine products in a store that was designed for women customers only, with no female relative, confidant, or lover for extra help, is beyond nerve wracking! A little less so if he was shopping at a general clothing store, but the pressure is still intense.

Stating your true intentions for making the purchase won’t actually stop people from giving strange looks, having awkward smiles, thinking you’re lying your perverted ass off, having bad impressions of you, snide comments from kids, and/or worse giving “encouraging words” that don’t feel encouraging at all…It’s hard to tell if people genuinely understand your cause when you’re under pressure.

Don’t forget he lives in a world where slavery is normal.

Everyone had excuses for answers.

He has a valid reason to hide the elf’s identity because she was sold somewhere for cheap as a material, so having her dressed would make the employees think she’s enslaved to be a play doll. He had a bad excuse and clam up wrongly but he can’t afford to expose who she was.

You created a product and have it out on the market, that's an accomplishment either way. I'm in a similar boat, self-published for free many years ago to some pretty decent reader numbers and acclaim (I think it's at the upper hundreds of thousands with several hundred positive reviews - and a few negative ones). But damned if I'll ever advertise it, that chapter in my life is over for now, pun intended. The important thing, however, is if you had fun doing it. Me and my buddy co-wrote it at the time, and I'll tell you, it was a riot. I wouldn't trade that time for the world, even if the end product is something I no longer care for.
