Agreed, with Himuro and Yukimura on the cusp of being a proper couple, the author should have taken the obvious route of developing their relationship while also focusing more on, you know, the other major couple in the manga: Kosuke and Ibarada.

And that's not mentioning the complete trashing of Kanade's love life to turn her into just another harem member.

The explanation is weird. Out of the two or three studies in attraction through smell that have been covered by general media in my time, none of them had a conclusion different from "women tend to be more attracted to men who smell closer to their fathers", which I reckon is the exact opposite of what they are selling here.
