A consistent symptom of a far bigger problem. His family and original kingdom fucked him over and a cult tried to kill him. I understand if he doesn’t want to kill them all eye for an eye, but there really was nothing stopping him from riding Vritra/Valitra back to prove he was right and they all wrong.
Every single problem that happened after is on him. Of course it wouldn’t stay as is, of course they wouldn’t leave him alone, of course they’d send assassins or kidnappers. It’s more impressive they did that for all the wrong reasons considering their guardian dragon is gone.
When a writer tries to make a “kindhearted” protagonist they should know there is a difference from kindness to naïvete. It’s a miracle nobody ended up dead here. The very first chapter shows his kingdom is run by a self-absorbed corrupt nobility and a fanatical cult, the protagonist suffered firsthand at that and yet he ignores the fact this means there might be thousands of people worse off since they don’t have convenient protection from a literal dragon and alchemy.

It's the batman hero syndrome that these mcs adhere to, claiming "moral high ground" even if that high ground is built on the suffering of innocent people whose problems would've been avoided had they taken the most efficient route (cutting the problem at its source)

And then the king will rally the surrounding countries and claim that the demon king has revived or something to that effect.

It's more of a Shonen marketability problem. They can't promote killing their way out of a problem if they're the "good person". The Japanese government pumps a lot of money into the field and have their rules.

On the other hand it directly goes against what it means to be a good person. I still think Captain Carrot in Men at Arms is the perfect "good person" and Sam Vimes description perfectly encapsulates that.

I agree, when one let's a villain go, they are directly responsible for all evil they do henceforth. The fact that were teaching people otherwise is already having a monumentally bad effect on society.

Have very good potential, but the MC is annoying alot, I hope there's good reason why he behave like this.

All he needs to do is have his sister go to the capital in dragon form, and publicly state that The idiot King, foolish father and greedy brother have angered her on a personal level, and need to be punished.

add in a few other nobles who mistreated or badmouthed Mys for good measure.

The cult will handle the rest.
That’s what I said in chapter 1, he just has to bring his sis-dragon in front of everyone and everything would be resolved. I’ve been told the sis would kill people if he did that  glad to see I’m not the only one thinking like this

? What's up with the Ninja guy having a few panels clearly showing the MC getting his sword yanked away just for the next panel to have him still holding said sword. 🤔

Don't know why the mc is so hesitant to kill the bad guys. Hopefully he goes through something that'll show him that's it's ok to kill the scary monster that's already killed a couple townsfolk

Those idiots should be grateful these are just mischievous goblins being bossed around by someone with restraint.

If this manga were a bit darker tone. The goblins would've dismembered their bodies as playtime.
