Actually, copying someone only makes you a prodigy, inventing something new, from scratch or something existing, or improving something old makes you a genius, if im not wrong.

While you're right, this is also kind of negated with the recent revelation that it's Edwin who has God's Tongue and Ludwig Sr. had a normal palate. He still pushed himself to achieve something nearly impossible, though.
