I’m confused, why does Usagi keep dying in a time loop before confessing to Tora? On the second to last page, it looked like both Usagi and Tora did the spell using each other’s hair (Tora snuck a strand of Usagi’s hair for Tora’s spell, and gave Usagi her own hair instead of the boy’s for Usagi’s spell). So even though they are both verbally wishing for something else (Usagi wishing for the boy, Tora wishing for Usagi to not date anyone), the actual hairs used in the spells are mutual, right?

I've come up with my own theory as to this.

Since we know that some weird supernatural power is in play in this whole "absolutely will come true spell", it could not be wrong that some type of paradox is in play due to the overlapping spells of Usagi's and Tora's on eachother.

As for Usagi's death, it may have to deal with the last part of Tora's spell "may Usagi not belong to anyone," as every time Usagi tried to confess to Tora, she would be killed.

It's also mentioned that whoever's wish has the stronger feelings will come true. So while Usagi is wishing for Yoshikawa it's only because she wants a boyfriend meanwhile Toras wish for Usagi to not be with anyone is stronger causing her death each time.
Guessing them using each others hairs though is resetting the world to fulfil the spirit of the spell of pushing them together and creating a paradox
