A certain spider came up with it!Him having to hit himself is kinda original. And this chapter felt a lot more enjoyable than the first one
It's literally an avalon clone.Him having to hit himself is kinda original. And this chapter felt a lot more enjoyable than the first one
Cuz it's an Avalon clone. The only minor difference is that in Avalon the dungeons appeared before the first world war and here the dungeons appeared during the interwar period. So the Japanese institutions remained the same, with nobility still existing and no military takeover of the government. SO also no postwar economic crash due to U.S imposed "PLAZA DEAL" that devalued the dolar and destroyed the japanese industry and created inflation. (Even to this day Japan never managed to recover from that).Rant time.
I don't know if it's really called yen or is a translation problem, but why did we waste an entire page explaining that yen exists in this world, but is worth so much more than the old world? Couldn't the author just use whatever fictional currency there is? Do they think their readers are so stupid that they wouldn't know what money is that isn't called yen? What a way to ruin the immersion.
Rant over.
I see, I'll check that manga out then! I saw that it has lots of chapters already so that's a plus, I won't have to wait who knows how long for this manga to have a decent chunk of content. I hope it's not just ultra generic isekai slop that we have nowadays with villain/villainess rebirth shitIt's literally an avalon clone.
The dowside of this gimmick is that he can't level up until he max out the hidden stats because he's gonna still be lvl 1 his classmates will think that he can't even beat a slime (like Souta) and they will start looking down on him. The heroine will show up and help him do this gimmick faster by healing him.
I know a lot of people are comparing it to Avalon. But correct me if I'm wrong, since I didn't really read Avalon much and only ended up skimming a few of the more recent chapters and reading the spoilers out of curiosity.
But isn't one of the main thing about Avalon being that the MC states he doesn't want to derail the main story, yet constantly derails the main story, yet persists in not derailing the main story, which causes a butterfly effect of everything going wrong requiring him to further derail the story, because he doesn't want to commit to derailing the goddamn story?
As for the rest, if you ask me, it's not so much Avalon as it is just Generic. Even this self harm training method, while harsh, isn't particularly uncommon. Well okay, somewhat uncommon, but I have seen enough variants of it to not really be that shocked or surprised by it. I can't even call it novel or quaint, it's just another variation where you increase stats based on actions. Hell you have one comedy story where a dumb kid decided to drink healing potions while continuously melting his arm away to eventually get heat resistance.
Oof... So either canned or infinite hiatus, either way the end result for the consumer is the same, it's dead in the water. He also doesn't want to derail the story either because he's following a guide. So he sometimes helps the heroines and check the status of the game mc to see which direction the story is progressing and prepare countermeasures. The difference is that there are no other players fucking shit up, but his actions end up derailing the story by getting noticed by the school and country factions, however he has a better personality than Souta. (avalon mc)
Could be but the self harm training at lvl 1 only serves as a purpose for him to be seen as the weakest in the class, because his classmates will think he can't beat a slime (Like Souta) and his classmates will look down on him like they do with Souta in Avalon until much later when he's unable to hide his powers any longer.
However, the status of the novel is currently abandoned, the author no longer writes anything (it also doesn't have an ending either just a normal chapter and then a hiatus). The last novel chapter ends up at 71 and the light novel only has one volume published in 2023. So the mangaka will likely only follow the volume 1 of the light novel and then he will have to be original.
My current review is that despite being a clone, it's better than Avalon, has better heroine, an ambitious MC with a good personality and no shitty CF.
Yep. The manga has 20 chapters out, and they release each part of a chapter biweekly.Oof... So either canned or infinite hiatus, either way the end result for the consumer is the same, it's dead in the water.
That's rather saddening.
