If I had to guess, based on other times I've seen this trope, she likely grew up poor and is trying way too hard to put on a facade to fit in with the other popular girls. And her arc will be about Kazuma teaching her that she needs to just be herself.

While that makes perfect sense, she's gonna learn that sometimes that isn't worth it when it comes to fake people like them, now I'm wondering how many girls is Kazuma gonna start meeting and getting close to till Rua finally gets the message and has a complete nuclear meltdown

the school they go to is full of rich privileged kids - the kind for whom "working for your stuff" would be looked down upon and as something to be made fun of.

She's pretending to have a rich college boyfriend because it makes her seem mature in the eyes of her peers, which is what matters most in that sort of setting to people in that age group--especially spoiled rich kids high on their trust funds and monthly ski trips.

Saying she worked for her stuff is saying she's Working Class, and that'd turn her into a pariah among her peer group almost immediately in that sort of social context.

That whole school needs to be nuked

This is obviously just a revenge fantasy meant for the sorts of people that want someone to affirm their delusions that their middle school bullies were heartless, irredeemable, scum-of-the-Earth monsters. You know, the people that complain about "redemption arcs" whenever an antagonistic character is given even the slightest bit of depth or backstory.

That’s almost certainly the lesson Kazuma is going to teach her. That she just needs to be honest and be herself, and not worry about impressing other people.

A dense protag? 95 times.
Yandere......isn't really as common as people think (depending on genre) so about 30-40 times.

So that 15 is a breath of fresh air, at least to me.
