thanks for the chapter,
soo pope says the moon is a real deity cause it exists in the world and not only in the dreamworld, then right after that he speaks about how the moon is still in the dreamworld? somewhat confusing
also is this the plan of the shadow? helping the dream gods getting bodies in the real world?

A. Hypocrisy
B. My bet is that either Inky is either an ancient being who wants the witches back in power or just enjoys the accidental chaos Mr. Lin is causing

Here’s my tin-foil hat theory:

“Inky” is going to be revealed to be Nyarlathotep, the Crawling Chaos, from the H.P. Lovecraft story “The Dreams in the Witch House”.

Nyarlathotep is a child of Azethoth, meaning he is also related to Cthulhu and other Great Old Ones. Unlike most of his relatives, Nyarlathotep is free to roam around and so has been essentially keeping the cults that worship his relatives running while they are absent.

Azethoth is an entity who essentially created all of reality as a byproduct of the dreams it has while it is sleeping. There’s an entire group of Azethoth’s children (themselves being incredibly powerful) who devote themselves to keeping Azethoth asleep by any means possible, because if it wakes up then all of reality will disappear.

My theory is that Inky (Nyarlathotep) is helping out the witches because they are related to himself in some way. Maybe these “false” gods threaten Azethoth’s sleep somehow.

I think if it does go the Cthulhu route it will be heavily inspired but not exact one to one, like only the dream realm is in danger if totaly not Azethoth is awoken, and the final arc being the Truth Society trying to awaken orginal character not-Azethoth to destroy the dream realm.

Or maybe Inky is Lin from the future and time travel shenanigans get involved, only time will tell.

If Crescent AKA Uncle Buck doesn’t look like the late great John Candy I’ll be very disappointed. I loved that movie growing up.

Didn't Lin show off a book that had all of then, including Azathoth, trapped inside? It's possible that was just a trapped memory or something, but I don't know if the Cthulhu Mythos is at the top of the food chain in this story's setting. If nothing else, Lin was described as the "Shepard of the Stars" during the attack on the elves and was supposedly wielding the power of "the creator" at the time, whatever that actually means, makes me think he's way higher up than some cosmic tadpole like Nyarlathotep.

What if Lin IS Azethoth and this story is his dream? It would explain why inky is so loyal and helpful to him while also seeming to constantly protecting and keeping Lin oblivious.
