This doctor is kinda sus... First, he disrupts the MC's reasoning for the poison that spread in a specific field. Second, I doubt that they can purify polluted water; maybe they're the ones who polluted the water first. Third, (probably) they're also the reason why the deer are attacking the field (my guess is either they drug those deer with some dark magic stones or some kind of dark magic that can cause the deer to rage mode). Lastly, the fact that most of the high nobles/royals in that Niza kingdom got sick all of a sudden it looks like someone from a neighboring kingdom is targeting Niza. Let's say that they used the deer and destroyed Niza's resources, just for them to be easy to conquer when the war comes, or maybe it's just a coup d'état who don't like the current noble/royal members.

I suspect the deer are actually the good guys, and trying to get rid of the poison in the fields.

What are the odds the "pure water" is actually Heavy Water =while not radioactive prolonged consumption can cause sickness.

that being said it causing radiation is also a common misconception and so would explain the symptoms to an extent you could also explain the healing magic not working as it causing total cell death something also attributed to radiation.

The doctor and his people feel 100% sus, but this could also be a red herring…though the fact that they already have access to mass vital infrastructure seems that they are likely behind the poisoning.

Someone snuck the deer through his barrier somehow, I do wonder what is happening.

Reading the other comments, I like the theory that the deer are consuming the contaminated crops, crops likely to be watered with the poison. But wouldn’t the entire kingdom be falling sick if that’s the case? And not just the royals?
