It's kinda weird. Currently reading on another site that's being a nuisance by redirecting and bypassing my mobile adblocker. Mc is kinda... Special. In chapter 7, an item is labelled but no more info. He completely ignores it even though it may be the quest item he was requested to find. NPC escort does what they often do in irl video games ... Trolling the player. It dies. He goes back to the spawn point to kill the npc for wasting his time and... He is thanked for bringing the requested item back. They wasted ALL that time and it had dropped on the very first monster kill.
