You have probably read the butchered manga adaptation of this. There is an actual lore on why the world is like it is (a virus long ago discovered by european explorers in africa which spread around the world which has a butterfly effect on wars and shit) and also there is sex and proper fucking character interactions.

I just read the manga adaptation afterwards. 1:39 hasn't got the best story and art, but it's loads better than this even with a lot of reused art. 😅
I like that it's a more "realistic" version of these parallel worlds. At least they're darker for sure.

Oh the manga adaptation is super ass it gets better in the novel with the half sister coming in so keep pushing on cause the focus is on realism (and much more heavy worldbuilding and addresses some concerns) while 1:39 is primarily more comedic which might be your preferences.
