Imagine there was a spinoff about Momoko and this girl getting together in the end :dogkek:
idk how real the notes I made are compared to the current dating scene by the way. can anyone confirm this? lol
As usual, let me know of any errors and points of improvement here in the forums. Thanks :bocchiwave:

Well, I have a story that's the quite opposite? I guess?
It's from an acquaintance of mine, so take what you will.
I mean, I'm just a random person on the internet. Who knows, everything I write here could be a lie. But I digress.

So his family moved to Japan when he was in his second year of high school. (this was over 10 years ago, I think? Should be)
In his first month at his new school, he got close to a girl. He developed a crush on her. He thought everything was going well.
They even went out on a date once, though I'm not entirely clear on that part. I guess they watched a movie together or something.
The following week, he asked her out/wanting to confirm that they were dating.
But not in the typical Japanese confession style. He just casually asked: we're together, right?
Long story short, she turned him down. My boy was a bit confused, wondering why she rejected him.
Then his friends explained that he was being too hasty. They say in Japan, you have to go through the steps according to the "rules". You know, there's valentines, Christmas, and all those events. And only then you can have your confession.

The Japanese sure have wildest assumptions about Americans(and Europeans)

If anything, it is a western person in Japan who'd be the one confused because of the excessively polite language that you're not supposed to take literally.

Am I the only one who think that homeboy just casually friendzoned Sensei instead of "cheating" ? lol

Also, FMC needs to confess ASAP or Blondie is somehow going to get MC virginity before her !!

It's really how that is in america? Here in brazil, there's "ficar", literallly translated to "stay" (where you are like in a trial period) and "namorar" that would be like dating normally, where you are a formed exclusive couple.

No lol. Or not in general at least. What's described in this chapter does not seem like appropriate behavior by the man.

Possibly adding to the confusion is that "dating" can separately refer to all three of an exclusive relationship, going on dates to find an exclusive relationship, and going on dates with no intention of ever having an exclusive relationship. In a healthy interaction, which one is being meant should be clearly understood by all parties. Of course we all know that doesn't always happen and I hear it's a frequent source of frustration for people who want one but get another.
