I'm only in this comment section because I was going to mention how realistic the parental affection is portrayed here. Most of the time you just get a woman in an apron chopping vegetables or wiping tears with a handkerchief at arms length, this is the first manga I've ever read that reminds me of my own childhood.

I don't have the knee-jerk "must be a pedo" response but never have I ever known a parent to kiss their child on the lips. Sure, this could be a cultural thing, but the extra attention the author places on both Noah and Olivia blushing/reacting and how handsy Olivia is--is a bit too straight shota for my tastes. Still a pretty good manga.

My mother kissed me on the lips when I was a kid. I didn't kiss my kid at that age, but that's because I'm a bit of a germophobe, not because it would have been weird or something. His mother did kiss him, though. I've seen friends do the same with their kids. It generally tapers off as the kid approaches teenage years. In some parts of Brazil it is also common for parents to kiss their children in the lips, though its different from a kiss, we call it "bicota", it doesn't have any romantic conotation and its seem as a mean to show affection.

Read a decent amount of chapters to be able to say this, but yeah, this series is intentional on it's grooming/pedophilia depiction. Those defending it saying it's not and that she's performing common familial behavior, etc. is blinded or trying to defend their own vices (maybe even their enjoyment of this story, but that doesn't hold well). And those that just want to play the advocate pats you on the head "that'll do for now, may Christ forgive us."
Each chapter only has roughly 12 pages of a cute anthropomorphic boy with a muscle mommy who blushes as she does "cutesy" things to him and him to her:
kissing him (on the lips, it's not the nose guys, stop lying)
Biting his ears (could be passable if it was done in a "I'm gonna get you back 'rawr' " and less "I like what I see" setting.
And the amount that she blushes when interacting with him in these settings should be the indicator that the author/artist knows what they're doing.
I won't pretend I'm not judging fans of this genre, but for your sake, please, stop pretending It's not super softcore romance with pedophilia. From my experience, Mangadex commentors aren't known for being virtuous especially with these types of genres.

I won't tell you to like or dislike this manga, but I do find it odd that you'd gripe about it specifically. I'd have expected that, if one wanted to gripe, one would select either a wholesome manga that's lewded for no reason or a manga that's not shy about the exact relationship that the main couple has.

I mean… yes, a cursory search reveals that the author is very much into /ss/, which in turn must mean that the /ss/ overtones herein must be completely deliberate. And, yes, for me personally, said overtones are a plus. (Sue me.)

But you seem to be implying that people who claim to like it for wholesome reasons must be lying, and I really don't think that's the case. The reason being, that, well… commenters who have non-wholesome reasons for liking something aren't usually shy about it. Plus, if nothing else, you have to admit that this manga takes care to have enough plausible deniability to not offend people who are trying to not be offended.

I mean, I know what it's like to purposely push away a manga's non-wholesome elements in order to enjoy its wholesome ones. The biggest example for me was Kodomo no Jikan, and sweet Chiyo-Niggurath did it take effort. But I did it.

So, with that said, the exception you've taken must be that, uh… people aren't reading into this as much as you or I are doing? Good on them, I say! Their innocence is a net good for this world.
