Apparently, the 40 year old anime movie Angel's is getting a rerelease.
It is made using the original tapes and giving the recording of them a digital upscaling to 4k

It is made using the original tapes and giving the recording of them a digital upscaling to 4k

I've heard of this movie as being an inspiration for one aspect of Hidetaka Miyazaki's Dark Souls III. Within The Ringed City, a princess remains asleep with an egg upon her person, an allusion to Angel's Egg. I haven't seen this movie yet, but the trailer alone is already more haunting than any moment of Dark Souls. Breathtaking direction.
