This manga is so all over the place tonally LMAO. I kind of respect it. It’s a fine read as a dark farce, but it should have escalated even more. Why not kill the whole school while we’re at it?

Man, this ending was depressing, the mc ends up being basically manipulated in the same way the teacher was, the teacher goes free after killing the mc's love interest, the girl (mc's love interest) end up being killed after deeply trusting both the ghost and the teacher, and the ghost ends up with a happy life despite her manipulating 2 people and basically killing another.
I guess the girl seems to end up reincarnating in a hopefully less abusive household, but having her life taken at such a young age and by two people she had trusted to the truest sense of the word is gutwrenching. In an ideal world she would have been able to live her life after escaping the shitty situation she was in, rather than having her life litterally stolen from her with no one seeming to care.
Also the fact that MC ended up with the ghost even though she was responsible for his closests love's death just because she stole her body and corned him at his lowest point, (when he was straight up about to kill himself) is fucking depresing. even if he's able to acknowledge the fact that she isn't her and gets closure that she was able to get reincarnated into a life where she's happy, there's no world in which it is fair or just that he ends up with the ghost who murdered her.
I'm glad the ghost was able to live in a body she was finally comfortable with, but she should have just passed on afterwards. The fact she's able to live a happy life after ruining one and killing another is evil, she doesn't deserve a happy ending after what she's done.

I didn't need a happy ending, but this ending is worse than trash.
The author went into exquisite detail showing the readers just how incredibly morally corrupt Inugami really was (and unrepentantly continues to be), and then had the MC stick with Inugami?! That's some fucked up writing there. It breaks the rules for a satisfying tragedy, and breaks the rules for any other kind of satisfying ending.

Coming here to plant my flag that this is my favorite bad ending ever. I love this manga so much, easily in the top 20, maybe top 10. It would live rent free in my head so much less if it were better.
Ugh it's great. The wild tone whiplashes where you go from a really sweet moment with Inugami right into how she fucked up Shizuru. How she feels repentant about what she did but what she did REALLY REALLY SUCKS. And then having the rug yanked out from under you cause: haha no she still super sucks! She sucks soooooo bad. It's genuinely deflating. It pisses you off so bad. It feels like a right hook from nowhere. I love her, one of my all time favorite characters. Her manipulating Yatsuhaka at the end cementing that at her best she's still awful but all he can rely on. Making a bad option the only one left, and having to make peace with that.
Speaking of. WHAT THE FUCK, YOTSUYA. I'm sorry, it's absolutely batshit to me to make a romcom where the title girl dies thinking her life isn't worth anything and everyone would be better off if she weren't around. That's absolutely AWFUL. I LOVE it. Why the fuck did they do this. That reincarnation shit is the most morbid happy end ever. You honestly feel offended.
I read this three years ago by now and I still think about it so often. I've forced friends to read this. I know i have baited at least one person to come here from an endcard and I guarentee they're never taking a reccomendation from me ever again after that! Oh it's so beautiful. I'm not even playing I think this is genuinely amazing.
