my bad for underestimating you, Yiyoung, I should've known better. I'm grateful her (internal) reasoning specifically brought up Renee too, I was just thinking again about the early chapters where she promised to stand by Renee while she had her body before I started reading this one lol

What's interesting to me is that she keeps talking as if going back home is a sure thing after she's done, in addition to Renee being alive after she leaves. I've got an odd feeling that there will be a twist that Renee herself is functionally dead, with the system "glitch" being caused by the system trying to restore her companions from the last world. Renee herself might be erased, much like how the tower owner can only possess dead bodies.

If the "glitch" is caused by her companions being reborn here, that would explain Sedin's existence as well. Plus thematically, this could be her chance to "not leave them behind this time" at the end as a redemption of sorts. The only way I can see that being acceptable is with Renee herself being dead/erased, unfortunately.

(I'd much rather Renee be alive to be clear lol, but thematically it does seem to point towards Yiyoung having more and more reason to stay in this world.)
