It's absolutely disgusting to talk about my intimate problems with my dad. Oh, but this random boy is fine though.
Puberty aside, the first thing that pops into my mind is 'my brother's husband' but that's more so dealing with a single father who had a twin bro who had a husband, and then he visits/moves in/stays over for a while but it's more so him grieving the brother together and an understanding of gay ppl/who his brother really was (well i vaguely remember that he technically knew, but they kinda grew apart/lost contact and then the bro moved away where he met the husband)You know what, this could be a series by itself.

there is also the 'rival' girl clearly having a crush, i feel like i've seen oneshots that technically have the 'romance' tag even tho it doesn't work out/is one sided/rejected, so i guess it'd be sorta an underlying theme but not following through (unless the last chapter is some timeskip where hina's married to daichi and talking to her own daughter about periods, coming around full circle)I'm like 80% sure the author intended for this to have romance but was cut short to fit it in so they instead pivoted to concluding Hina's main plot point.
You'll see more of it in the last chapter but there were obvious hints and setups for Daichi and Hina to start forming a romantic relationship. I mean, we even had an entire love triangle drama that could have expanded way more into what love means at their age and stuff like that.
Instead after the festival the author just kinda went "well guess I gotta wrap it up" and swept everything under the rug.
Should be fixed now, script for ch 17 is complete too
It's kinda one of those things where a father showing interest in a daughter's sexual development for her health and physiological development is seen as creepy. Add to the fact in Japanese culture (and I guess universally) a girl hating her dad as she gets older is seen as the norm. It's not so out of left field. It's seen that a mother or woman is suppose to take care of those things not the dad. And a father taking care of it must have "nefarious" purposes. That was a weird little arc. The dad was doing his best, and everyone is telling her is fine to treat him like trash? If they all have indeed taken sex ed lessons in school, there is absolutely no reason for her to treat him like a gross freak only because he showed concern over he developing body. If anything she should be grateful, even mothers nowadays neglect their children to the point they are basically strangers growing up, to have a parent that shows concern for you and to treat him like trash...and to be vindicated by the peers around you? Yeah, I don't follow. Why is this like this? If anything, the only thing he did wrong was being late to the party. If he had talked to her BEFORE the story started, she would've been a bit more secure about herself, and she would've known from the get go....wait a minute, didn't they learn sex ed? Why DID this story happen in the first place?
Yes, let's justify her shitty behaivior by saying that the whole world agrees that incestual child abuse starts from concern over your motherless daughter's growing pains. Let's not take into account that there is no mother present to play that role and that he was genuinely worried about her...what a creep. Well deserved hate, he should just act like a typical Japanese robot father with no emotions...that entire culture deserves the future it's building for itself. It's kinda one of those things where a father showing interest in a daughter's sexual development for her health and physiological development is seen as creepy.
