I'm not so sure. Cultures varied a lot over time and place to place, even within the kind of absolute hierarchy most of this genre assumes. The girl isn't with a visibly armed guard to make a clear threat. It's not implausible ageism (given a request that on its face came off as insane), it's not implausible passive aggression, and it's not implausible for a stubborn person who feels essential to have approximately zero expectation of blowback. Things could be better, could be worse. These things in manga always bothers me. Not trusting or making trouble because the other party is a kid or something. This isn't some modern democratic nation. When anyone, a kid or beggar or whoever, shows up with the authority and position, you fall in line or you get drag to the chopping block, literally. People in such societies were tossed into dungeons for less.
I like the backhanded comments being tossed right back in force.bickering with adults
