Liar Satsuki coming up is funny because it clearly ended with gl but the primary love interest the audience expected isn't who she ended up with.

Regardless, it doesn't matter.

"A Ninja and Assassin Under One Roof" and "The Demon Girl Next Door" are both mangas that are not under the yuri label by their publisher and are still very yuri. To the point that denial looks foolish.

Regardless if the two protagonists here escalate their feelings doesn't matter. What matters is that those feelings are there. That they occupy a space in the other's mind with the greatest shown narrative importance.

 That is what matters.
Liar Satsuki had no romantic resolution in any way, they were basically friends living together

Yes, sometimes we do get Yuri without being promoted as such, they're the exception though

Where their feelings go absolutely matter, so does matter how it'll end, facts are the series can absolutely end as nothing more but friendship no matter how much they occupy each other minds

Fact are the series is tagged as Girl's Love and people are expecting it, so far we got nothing and raws are seemingly over 100 chapters and still nothing

Truth be told I feel A Ninja and Assassin Under One Roof is infinitely more yuri than The Demon Girl Next Door, ninja at least has actually explicitly lesbians and pretty clearly isn't shying away from that subject while demon I've read there was apparently a one sided confession but it basically completely flew over mc head which means in the long run it might still get nowhere

In the end my point stands that this series will still possibly get nowhere and they'll end as nothing but friends

Now I'm reminded of Amanchu which was apparently super gay and had big yuri following, mangaka didn't like that though and introduced a male love interest, funny thing is that she did something similar with Aria years ago

To me its only yuri if the mangaka actually commits to the yuri. Liar satsuki's ending didn't clearly end with yuri, it ended with
them as just roomates and without anything explicitly romantic

Im not gonna take half baked half assed shit like that and call it romance between two girls (or hetero), same with any other manga. If it isnt actually romance stuff and just "undertones" then that aint yuri man, theyre queerbaiting our asses I wont call that slop yuri

Or else we're just gonna start calling two close female friends yuri and thats a bucket of worms I dont wanna open. If it isnt explicitly romantic in how the author portrays it, it aint fucking yuri.

It's possible mangaka wanted it to be open to interpretation but fact is that there was nothing obviously Yuri or romantic at Liar Satsuki ending lol

It's particularly funny cause for half the series Satsuki barely interacted with the other girl :v

As for two close friend being Yuri, unfortunately in Japan some do see yuri as also super close friends though I'm pretty sure they're a minority, as far as I know being explicitly romance between women is one reason Girl's Love started being used with or instead of Yuri, though admittedly it's been a long time I've read about the subject and I might be remembering wrong

Anyway, have a look at A Ninja and Assassin Under One Roof, it has lesbian side couple and mcs will possibly get together in the long run, hopefully lol

Edit: apparently when A Ninja and Assassin Under One Roof got anime the mangaka said on twitter the series is Yuri, so I guess high chances mcs will get together

As always, "someone got sick, please help for replacement". Love she always help the others. Respect.

About GL. Just leave it be. it's hard to search if I want to read the series about female protagonist doing something with other females, without male involved, especially random series.

And this one don't have romance tag, so don't expect something adult skinship. Lol.

“A Ninja and Assassin Under One Roof” girls will literally lose eyes and limbs for each other and still not be gay enough for some people! 😅

People say the GL tag is misleading but like not all GL have the two girls get together. They both clearly like each other here, they’re just USELESS
hence why the lack of romance tag

If this were a hetero or yaoi couple no one would bat an eyelid, but apparently yuri has to have higher standards to count.
You must not read hetero manga or engage with the comments then. They are MORE sensitive to this. Lack of progress is viewed as extremely frustrating by hetero manga readers and a series ending ambiguously or with subtext would likely cause a mass revolt. I have no idea where you got the idea people would be fine with that. I can’t speak for yaoi and its communities. Maybe they’re uniquely resistant. But the feeling a lot of people get when they see subtextual yuri is that the writers are trying to hide it or maybe don’t view it in the same level of seriousness as a heterosexual relationship. This why so many yuri readers want more obvious romance because, especially in the 90s and early 2000s, this mindset was extremely common. Since we’re so spoiled for choice these days in extremely overt yuri this kind of story can feel regressive.
