He's probably shocked cus he hasn't seen anyone else that has that level of skill due to most other people he faced being way too weak. Sure he can destroy her in a proper fight easily but in a 1v1 where he is limited to that specific level of golem he is surprisingly at a disadvantage due to her skill level of the specific golem being higher then him(since she would have a semi limited number of summons, she would have practiced more on each one. His cheat is infinite summons and the mana to keep up with that which leads to him having a lower skill level then her when it comes to each summon due to a lack of practice on controlling each individual summon)

If you remember during the tournament arc, his intermediate golem blocked an advanced water spell because he has so much more mana than anyone else he's faced so far.
