That was just about the best possible outcome. I'm glad that the story didn't take a turn to move the plot along with the Magic Surveillance Bureau, even if it would have been the obvious thing to do.
Is overcoming prejudices going to be a theme in this manga going forward? The chapter ends on "an encounter with two kindhearted girls, nothing more or less." Kurt definitely knew, but this encounter changed his perception of mages just a tiny bit. It would be cool if we saw more of him later, when the average citizen becomes aware of Quovelta's activities.
