...Could the man whose face he can't remember be Komori-1? (Or an intentional parallel to him?) We've never seen his face, after all, and from an in-universe perspective, he's the one in charge of presenting these horror stories, similar to how the faceless man here is in charge of announcing the protagonist's coming misfortune.

These stories keep getting more surreal and odd. Although it is nice to get a breather from the strangeness of it all with something realistic and plausible, like random chainsaw attackers and evil polydactily people.
