The smartest play is to report the offending remark, ignore their account, and move on to reading more mangaAlways nice to see transphobes outing themselves by liking other transphobes' comments.
Yeah, I REALLY hate when that sort of thing happensMe realizing half a month later that I was so bummed out by the short length of this story that I didn't even bother to actually open the chapter...
I saw it now, and already I can tell the author is rushing before the deadline comes for them, what a bummer.
Its weird that you mention "alphabet soup folk" when the only manga you comment on a the gay ones.Funny to see the alphabet soup folk disappointed that a comedy manga isn't being hyper preachy about their cult teachings.
It's your fault for getting TOO invested in a casual comedy manga to begin with, this never promised a serious trans dilemma perspective, go to your ugly western webcomics instead, I'm sure they're drawing some MtF fat afro american with vitiligo, now that's "real" beauty!
I support yuri/girls love (specifically asian works), I don't care for all the western alphabet baggage/perspective, either the ones they preach IRL or add to fictional works. Its weird that you mention "alphabet soup folk" when the only manga you comment on a the gay ones.
That's just contradicting yourself. Yuri/girls love/whatever you want to call them is part of the group you hate.I support yuri/girls love (specifically asian works), I don't care for all the western alphabet baggage/perspective, either the ones they preach IRL or add to fictional works.
Sad part is that Moneymike is making the "The two pictures are the same thing" meme. Sad.I support yuri/girls love (specifically asian works), I don't care for all the western alphabet baggage/perspective, either the ones they preach IRL or add to fictional works.
What the heck does that even mean? Also really lame to use my name and not have the guts to respond to me. That's sadSad part is that Moneymike is making the "The two pictures are the same thing" meme. Sad.
First of all, of the consequences, you act like a ton are irreversible and say that being unable to have a biological child is "one of the worst" when, in reality, that's kind of the consequence. The rest are pretty reversible or at least mostly reversible.Something that may be incomprehensible to those believing me a transphobe, is that I'm not actually anti-trans. Or more specifically, I'm not against the idea of someone wanting to switch genders.
The problem is the current lack of technology to make a perfect switch. One can go through all kinds of treatments and surgeries to imitate the opposite sex, but at the end of the day the DNA is the same. The processes inside the body didn't change to what is natural for the opposite sex, they were simply altered, and most of the time with imperfect results.
The worst part is that if someone who transitioned ends up changing their mind after the fact and wants to go back to who they were before, the consequences of transitioning are almost irreversible.
One of the worst of the possible consequences is being unable to have a biological child of your own. I understand not everyone wants kids, but those who do and end up unable to have them are absolutely devastated.
So my problem with the current push to make it easy for everyone, including children, to transition is the fact that the process is simply not there yet.
The rhetoric online and in media is one of acceptance, pushing people only thinking casually about transitioning into actually going through with it.
Practically never are the negative consequences brought up by those pushing for people to transition. Everything's perfect on the other side of the rainbow.
It wouldn't be an issue if one could perfectly swap bodies like in a game's character creator, but we live in reality, where such is not possible. Yet.
So, I bully people who are considering transitioning using facts and logic, in the hopes that they're dissuaded from casually doing something that may ruin their lives forever.
And for those who already transitioned... You've made your bed, I sincerely hope you like lying in it.
First of all, of the consequences, you act like a ton are irreversible and say that being unable to have a biological child is "one of the worst" when, in reality, that's kind of the consequence. The rest are pretty reversible or at least mostly reversible.
Secondly, if your main worry is in regards to the consequences, then why are you trying to stop people from transitioning and bully them? Instead, you should just encourage people to understand what they're getting themselves into before they do it. Also, you say "may ruin their lives forever". People do shit that "may ruin their lives forever" all the damn time, I don't know where this is the line you draw. Do you bully people who want to get tattoos? Or who don't go to college? Or who play video games? They might regret the tattoo, they might not be able to get a good job without a degree, and they might get addicted to video games. All of these can "ruin their lives forever". But if you're constantly only focusing on the potential consequences, you just kind of ignore everything else. Like, trans people tend to be happier after they transition. There are some that regret it but, again, if you never do anything you might regret, you'll never do anything ever.
Hell, I went on Minoxidil without realizing that it didn't just stop hair loss, but also caused you to grow more body hair, something I didn't want. Now, I regret having taken Minoxidil. Am I going to now bully people to not take Minoxidil? No, that's stupid. I'll just tell people about this before they take it so they can make an informed decision with all the information.
Also, this is never something that is "casually" done. Despite what many people tell you, this isn't something that people tend to decide in an afternoon. Transitioning, even before doing-so medically, tends to be a process that is drawn out over months and years spent trying to discover one's self. If it is something being done casually, that's an outlier, not the norm.
