It feels like something is being lost in translation. Did the wanders brigade receive the exact same title "Hero" as Sein? It doesn't make sense within the setting for a hero to be some chosen one and then another king can randomly give the same title away while there's an existing hero.

Lisa is not brainwashed. She is in truth the ACTUAL Demon lord, and was the one who unlocked the Evil Eye to ruin the hero.
If memory serves, he realizes the truth after Lisa converts him into a monster, and even asks Toru to put him out of his misery.
Lisa did all of that, because only those with the Title of "Hero" can actually kill her... But if I remember correctly, because Sein realized he had been tricked, and let Toru kill him, the Title of Hero was passed to Toru, allowing Toru to defeat Lisa, the TRUE villain.

They were right on that, Lisa let the fool THINK she was under mind control, she never loved Toru, hell his PARENTS were killed by her simply because she needed an excuse to worm into his heart BECAUSE she knew dipshit had a NTR fetish! The other two girls were CASUALITIES that she also added because, if you remember Junko from DanganRonpa and her LOVE of Despair, yeah she's exactly the same though unlike Junko she isn't ADDICTED to her OWN demise and despair! She's actually WAY more powerful, and the reason for the SABOTAGE is that if he dies, the Hero title will go to someone else! By Sabotage, she planned on using him to SPREAD despair with his BAD NTR fetish behavior and being incompetent, though not TOO incompetent! She could have killed the fairies, but that would drop her disguise and reveal everything
Toru was nothing to her, she even THOUGHT just like the POS that Toru was despairing or in her case killed himself! She's just as FURIOUS as the POS when she finds out HE'S been the one sabotaging her plans (killing her generals and solving all the problems THEY were meant to do and bungle!) Toru comes across her by accident and before purifying her, she acts like "A woman who has reached the depths of despair, being betrayed by THE ONE SHE LOVED and saved by "the inferior they kicked out" though like the Fighter Tomboy it's not malicious! Even if he BRAINWASHED them. They couldn't see Toru as lesser, so she was more feeling SHAME that the "weakling they kicked out for his own good had to save her!" Without him around to keep APPLYING the drugs and Eye, the brainwashing was waning and lets just say unlike the Tomboy who fell into despair when she remembers the RAPES and betraying Toru! She is PISSED he got one over on her! It was one thing to be pathetic, but she remembers all the "loving and rape" from him that basically he "made her a JOKE and she isn't happy about it!"
Remember when dipshit smacked her the first time when her eyes changed a few chapters back! Yeah it's because everything she said in insult to Toru back in chapter 1 was actually meant for the POS! She was his advisor and never liked him, he HATED her for DARING to advise him and being more ENCOURAGING towards Toru who he saw as his INFERIOR as you know. Hence the brainwashing, but unlike Tomboy who didn't need it applied, well she did and if I remember the whole SELLING her was because they couldn't afford and Lisa was a bitch who like with Toru could "only imagine how she'll feel when it wears off and she's a slave!" Never expecting Toru to save her or him in general!
It is CRINGE when the CLIMAX chapter comes where they meet again! The two pathetically acting like HAUGHTY Ex and Affair Partner treating Toru like HE was the angry Ex getting in their way for REVENGE when it was never about them and they and he knows it! It's also there he throws the water on Lisa and she drops the act! Boy was that a dumb idea in the long term as because she had to TWIST the knife, she revealed she killed his parents for NO OTHER REASON then "the EVULZ" and to mak him vulnerable! So at that point Toru has ENOUGH and he WILL kill her at the END of the story so more chapters AFTER that one, her death is kind of pathetic, she begs for her life and TAKES BACK what she said, acting like it "Was all the POS fault" trying to backtrack once she loses the edge, and Toru decides to give her a taste of her own medicine, "he tells her if she DOES love him then show him the RING he gave her" which she desperate shows....."the one from the POS she tossed his ring away for!" It shows just how SURE she was that she'd NEVER see Toru again! She loses hope after realizing "wrong ring!" and guessing easily Toru never PLANNED on sparing her! After all she did and checks she made! Why the fuck would he!
As for assface, even after the revelation she STILL uses him and he sides with her like an IDIOT thinking she cared, the Hero Title is DANGEROUS to the Demon Lord because when facing one, their LEVELS will start dropping at a FAST RATE! She's at MAX Level so this is a BAD THING in destroying her invincibility! She does NOT like the POS, if I remember she HAD HIM under an illusion when he thought he was RAPING her. But basically Toru gets the Hero Title through a challenge and wipe the FLOOR with him before going for Lisa! I think it's safe to say the NEW Picture of the story showing the Demon Woman in the background is Lisa's "True Form!" Toru never sees him again, he is made to PAY for his crimes in a public execution as he's STILL screaming he's the Hero, even treating his "Charm/cucking" like he did with Toru in this chapter "A minor thing not to get mad at!" And they chop his dick off before his head! It's a rather pathetic end for him

Saves you time if you curious on the rest since you're leaving an all! I was mixed on this story when I read those chapters years back as you are now LOL! Honestly these NTR stories never do good, I enjoyed their downfall, but felt it was too much as in too predictable and too BORING
Honestly would have done GREAT if the twist WASN'T she was the Demon Lord, and not brainwashed, she was just a bimbo at the end of the day, and idiot that REALLY believed in the loser and REALLY believes she was in the right for screwing Toru like she did, anything but the FINAL BOSS! Hell I would have taken her as a MINION of the Demon Lord rather then BEING one then it explains why she was as WEAK as he was! And it makes sense as something like this WAS mentioned in "Isekai Transporter" in regards to "libedo" on Heroes! Namely one of the WORST outcome is they send a perverted hero who gets CHARMED by a Female Demon on the Demon Lord's side into betraying the people the Transporters send the Hero to!

And no need to make the HERO a SUPER CHEAT like that, instead just make it be a protection against the Demon Lord's own Aura, hence WHY a Hero is needed, they aren't super powered, they just are the only ones to PROTECT themselves and anyone facing the Demon Lord! Hoping the Manga at LEAST gives a good explanation for Toru's ability to get the title, like maybe a BACKUP in the off chance the new Hero was unworthy or something
