I will say, the analogy of trying to attach fallen petals to the stem is a superb one that nails the futility of the act; even if you succeed by, say, tying it together with a string, the petal will still rot and remain dead.

Cutting away the dead part and reattaching the alive part at a microscopic level, and it would be alive again no? Provided the petal must be somewhat alive
