Is it dead? The previous chapter suggested the dragon in the dungeon wasn't the actual master. I reckon Hikaru didn't have time to continue in the dungeon, as he was too worried about this second dragon and returned to the village. So, the real master ought to still be in the dungeon.

But as expected of protagonist with plot armor skill, he managed to kill steal the dragon. Talk about whooping exp points.

Use drugs, magic, hostages, or whatever to force him to work forever. Any middling soldier, can now be a Super Soldier. Weakling mages can be powered up in half the time.

Well yes... It's all part of the general "OP protag wants a Slow Life/Stay Inconspicuous" trope...
The whole Agonised Brooding thing is to give "Depth" to the otherwise two-dimensional character and appeal to the Chuuni/Cringe crowd.

Although admittedly this one is one of the more annoying of the lot.
