It's been bugging me that no one has talked about this thought bubble...

Yeah there's a decent amount of random TL errors that crop up, but tbh I'm not gonna complain about some hiccups like that because I'm just glad to have this series TL'd again, and for the gap to almost be finished, and they're not usually that major.

Finally hit the 108.5 chap, soon...

What’s crazy is that it takes Medis SO LONG to get over what was obviously a lie. I really hate that it became a massive part of her character for the next chapters but it’s a decent development between the two I guess.

The Ryupadan sword legend I really hope comes in handy sometime in the future during a major boss battle. Maybe Akira will be able to empower himself by fusing with his summons and then getting to wield her or something.

Thanks for the translation as always!! Almost caught up to the gap.

The funny part being that technically Akira didn't even lie since he did promise to marry elf waifu in the future(albeit with it being a thing he made in childhood he doesn't take it seriously)

Dude should just tell Medis that it's her he was referring to. They are from the same town, right?

??? He literally said that because that’s what his mom told him to say to get rid of women who try to come onto him. Irregardless of their relationship, Aria was not even mentioned at all on those panels. He wasn’t saying it because of Aria, he was saying it to get that woman away from him.

Yes, but I'm saying that he did promise himself to Aria in the beginning chapters of the story. Did you forget that?

No no, of course I remember that, it’s basically the basis of Aria’s whole attitude towards him from that point onwards; but Aria is the only one who actually is truly taking it seriously at this point.

They’re not in a “relationship” other than basically super close family right now (because dense harem protagonist, he’s not her boyfriend, she’s not his girlfriend, he doesn’t actually know what she is, etc etc). Yes there is extreme romantic tension between them (Akira’s chest hurting after seeing her with another man in the dream, her clinging to him on the balcony, etc.) but Akira himself doesn’t think oh, I can’t do this with another woman, because I have Aria back home. She isn’t his reason. He doesn’t see her as his significant other, girlfriend, partner, or fiancé (yet). It takes two people to recognize a romantic relationship; between the two of them, Aria is the only one that is acting on it. Yes, he says he wants to protect her when they are on the balcony before the Oder trip, but in a previous panel, he listed her and his family as the reasons to protect Stromheim. He also said to Medis after the Oder battle, when he renewed his resolve to her, that she was someone he treasured more than anything. But even after that, Medis and him are not in a relationship either.

They are VERY close, and ending up with Aria is probably his destiny, but they are NOT in an actual official relationship at this moment, because Akira himself, when he grew up did not take the proposal seriously, he never brings it up again. That’s the reason I said irregardless of their relationship, he didn’t say that he was promised to a girl back home because of Aria, but because his mom told him that’s the strategy. And so, it was a lie. Once again, I’m not saying that they are not extremely close to one another, but that they are not in an official relationship.

Anyways, that’s way too much typing for a throwaway comment, my b. Aria is best girl fr though. Whatever, if you disagree then that’s fine too. Relationships are defined in different ways by different people.

And I really hope this manga goes for a long time, but the latest chapters have felt so oddly dragged on.

I don't believe it at all. He seems to still hold her in that regard, that was clear by the time of the time skip.

I think he genuinely meant he had someone but didnt know how to tell the princess or is still trying to figure out how he feels about the princess as well. It's not like he can't marry both women, or more, after all.

I can't remember the exact chapter but way after that promise was made, he thought to himself that Aria couldn't possibly be still taking seriously something he said in his childhood (maybe that's from when she showed up in the capital before departed on the airship, idk).
So even though he didn't have the mind of a child, he only went along with what he thought she was already talking about  to a child (she's shown to be flustered when he talks about marriage because the "partnership" she meant was apparently something else), so he saw no harm in making a promise he wouldn't be expected to keep for life.

As it's been correctly pointed out, he does seem to feel a sting of jealousy when he dreams about her, but the questions he ends up with overwhelm his dense head.

Right now, she's not winning any race, but considering how much the story has leaned into the diplomatic relations between the nations, having a nuke like him would only work for the rest of the world if he marries Aria, marries the princess and she quits being one, or ends up marrying someone from multiple/all nations.
