I don't know about some, but I really like this story. Yes, we didn't know Akira's gender, but it isn't important, for me at least. I don't mind if he's a she or vice versa. Its amazing to know that someone likes you regardless of your gender. It resonated with me actually. Thank you for this wonderful story dear author.

Nah. There are a lot of manga with similar premise, when guy fell in love with girl, who could be a boy. So MC unsure what to do but ultimately ends up with "boy or girl doesn't matter if its is love".
But authors brush aside the most important question: is MC straight or not? If he is straight this does mean that he fell in love with imaginary girl. Even if he admits the idea that his crush could be a guy he still basically holds on to the possibility of them being girl. MC can sustain this illusion until they end up in one bed or at least see each other naked, and then it will end right there. But I guess in all these manga MC supposed to be bi in order to not deal with this problem.
But I kinda want to read dramatic manga with bitter-sweet or downer ending where something like this happens.
